Collections Store Audit Volunteer

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Join Cromer Museum’s Collections Team to help audit and improve the accuracy of our stored collections data. This project focuses on Store 1, the most recently organised and audited space, which has shown some inconsistencies in location and inventory details. Your work will help us develop a process for tackling more complex spaces in the future.

What's involved?

  • Check printed box lists against physical contents.
  • Confirm location and description accuracy.
  • Note missing information and take photographs of objects where needed.
  • Add any unlisted items to the paper list.
  • Work collaboratively in the Education Room with other volunteers and staff.

Time Commitment

  • Every two weeks on Thursdays
  • Half-day sessions: 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • Ongoing project throughout the year.

Skills Needed

  • Attention to detail.
  • Basic computer literacy (for photography – training provided).
  • Organisational skills.
  • Teamwork and communication.
  • Interest in museums and collections.
  • Ability to handle objects safely (training provided).

Accessibility

This opportunity does require access to a store at the top of a flight of stairs- the team would happily discuss any concerns regarding this.
